What is ChargeMeUP!?

ChargeMeUP! is a BlackBerry half app – half themes that has a story unfolds at the Homescreen.

1. ChargeMeUP! basically works like an app, you have to install it and it will run in the background,

2. voila, you have a new Homescreen look,

3. your Homescreen will be like a movie theatre: the scenes in your Homescreen will change accordingly to your BlackBerry battery condition.

4. the story starts when your battery at the lowest and then ends as your battery is fully-charged.

For it’s premier, ChargeMeUP! will take a Valentine theme and named: Love Battery with two main characters: Valencia and Martin. Here are some previews:

Will they celebrate Valentine happily together or not, is for you (and the battery condition) to decide! Of course there will be another story for ChargeMeUP, so look forward to it in our future releases!

ChargeMeUP! – Kreasi Terbaru 7Langit Menyapa: Halo 2012!

Hai teman 7Langit! Februari berarti Valentine segera tiba dan kami memberimu kado untuk merayakan bulan penuh cinta dan berbagi dengan yang terkasih, sambut penemuan termutakhir 7Langit di awal tahun 2012 ini: ChargeMeUP!

Apa itu ChargeMeUP!?

ChargeMeUP! berupa setengah aplikasi setengah themes BlackBerry yang memiliki cerita di Homescreen.

1. ChargeMeUP! bekerja seperti aplikasi, kamu harus menginstalnya dan ChargeMeUP! akan bekerja di balik layar,

2. voila kamu akan mempunyai tampilan Homescreen yang baru,

3. Homescreen itu berfungsi seperti layar bioskop: gambar yang ada di Homescreen akan berubah-ubah sesuai dengan kondisi batere.

4. ceritanya dimulai ketika bateremu berada di titik terendah dan kemudian berakhir ketika batere-mu penuh.

Untuk rilis perdana ini, ChargeMeUP! bertemakan Valentine dan kami beri nama: Love Battery dengan 2 tokoh utama: Valencia dan Martin. Apakah mereka berdua akan merayakan Valentine bersama-sama atau tidak, kamu (dan bateremu) yang menentukan!

Tentu saja akan ada cerita-cerita lainnya untuk aplikasi ChargeMeUP!,  jadi tunggu tanggal rilis mereka! :)

After Waterloo, Toronto, San Francisco, and Boston, Jakarta was the next destination for BBM Hackathon 2011. Held on November 14 – 15, 2011, this event invited developer communities across Indonesia in a two-day program to give feedbacks and also build great apps using new BBM Social Platform.

Before attending the event, developers have to submit their apps, either it was still an idea or had been made the prototype, then they have to write an essay about how the integration of social platform can add more value for the app.

7Langit has participated in this event with 3 prototypes of apps each for Social (blood4lifeid), Entertainment (ON AIR) and News (yet to be announced) category. Presenting them is Oon Arfiandwi, Iwan Lubis, and Herman Setiawan and each have brilliant ideas how to put use the new social platform into these apps.

After two days of intensive workshop, RIM had chosen 3 best application ideas and even though 7Langit didn’t get into the 3 big, we managed to be in the 5 big with our blood4lifeid and ON AIR.

7Langit di BBM HACKATHON 2011 JAKARTA

Setelah diselenggarakan di Waterloo, Toronto, San Francisco dan Boston, Jakarta menjadi tempat berikutnya untuk BBM Hackathon 2011. Berlangsung dari 14-15 November 2011, acara ini mengundang komunitas pengembang aplikasi seluler pintar di Indonesia untuk mengikuti program 2 hari tersebut dan memberikan tanggapan dan juga mengembangkan aplikasi-aplikasi keren dengan menggunakan platform sosial BBM yang baru.

Sebelum menghadiri acara ini, para peserta harus mengirimkan aplikasi mereka, baik berupa ide atau sudah ada prototipenya, dan kemudian mereka juga harus menulis sebuah esai tentang bagaimana implementasi platform sosial dapat menjadi nilai tambah untuk sebuah aplikasi.

7Langit turut serta dalam acara ini dengan membawa 3 prototipe aplikasi untuk 3 kategori, yaitu: Sosial (blood4lifeid), Hiburan (ON AIR) dan Berita (belum rilis). Mempresentasikan 3 aplikasi tersebut adalah Oon Arfiandwi, Iwan Lubis, dan Herman Setiawan, dan masing-masing telah memiliki ide cemerlang untuk memanfaatkan platform sosial tersebut ke dalam masing-masing aplikasi.

Setelah dua hari workshop intensif, RIM akhirnya memilih 3 developer dengan ide aplikasi terbaik, dan walaupun 7Langit tidak berhasil menjadi 3 besar, tapi kami masuk ke dalam 5 besar dengan aplikasi blood4lifeid dan ON AIR.

At the Ad Platform implementation using AdbMob by Google, 7Langit team is working on their own SDK based on the publisher code for mobile web template, coordinating with AdMob team. Result of this project has been tested on two applications of Prime Make Your Own Blackberry Apps platform : Diana Rikasari and Ndoro Kakung.

The AdMob by Google supported banners used are text banner and image banner. Default image banner template is originally equipped with text banner already. However some requests creates image banner only. 7Langit team’s SDK process is by doing HTML tag interpretation from the ones returned by AdMob server. Banner Ad is located on the “list” area (as shown in DianaRikasari App image), or displayed on information details such as articles/photo galleries (as shown in Ndoro Kakung App image).

Result from two AdMob by Google integrated app shows that Ad requests is quite high, as seen on the graphic from AdMob website/portal during 10 days experiment.

Tim Developer 7Langit melakukan percobaan integrasi Mobile Ads di aplikasi BlackBerry, sejumlah mobile ads platform dicoba dalam eksperimen ini, mulai dari Ad Platform yang disediakan secara official oleh BlackBerry (BlackBerry Advertising Service) hingga sejumlah platform Mobile Ad lain termasuk AdMob by Google.

Dalam implementasi Ad Plaform dengan AdMob by Google, tim 7Langit membuat sendiri SDK berdasar contoh dari publisher code for mobile web dengan berkoordinasi bersama tim AdMob. Hasil implementasinya telah berhasil diujicoba pada dua aplikasi hasil pembuatan otomatis dari platform Prime, Make Your BlackBerry Own Apps, yaitu Diana Rikasari dan Ndoro Kakung.

Model banner yang didukung dalam implementasi Ad dengan AdMob by Google antara lain text banner dan image banner. Model image banner secara default biasanya dilengkapi dengan text banner juga, tapi sejumlah request menghasilkan image banner saja. Proses yang dilakukan SDK yang dibuat sendiri tim 7Langit adalah melakukan intepretasi tag HTML yang dikembalikan oleh server AdMob.

Banner Ad diletakkan pada bagian dari aplikasi yang berbentuk list (seperti tampak pada gambar DianaRikasari App) ataupun ditampilkan pada detil informasi berupa artikel/foto galeri seperti pada gambar Ndoro Kakung App.

Dari evaluasi dua buah aplikasi yang telah terintegrasi dengan AdMob by Google, ternyata hasil request Ads menunjukkan angka yang cukup tinggi, tergambar pada grafik dari portal AdMob selama percobaan 10 hari.
